Sometimes dealing with a break up is difficult, unless you were glad to get out of the relationship and cannot wait to change and move on. A break up affects your whole life - everything seems to remind you of your ex. And if you had the same friends, just going out with them can stir up a whole lot of emotions.

One of the hardest things when dealing with a break up and moving on is how your friends and family react. If your family loved your ex, you will get tired of them asking about the break up. You need to let them know that you are dealing with a break up and ready to move on, and that them always reminding you of the past relationship is not helping.

It is common that your family keeps talking about your ex in your presence for the practical difficulties they may encounter in regard to this. Tell them in no uncertain terms that it is over.

Over time they will learn to accept your decision because they love you and want to see you happy. It may be harder to convince your friends to let go.

It can be a bit easier if you don't have any friends in common. If you share the same circle of friends, your breakup can be strange for your friends. It will be even more difficult to deal with a break when your ex wants to be with them.

You can even collide when around the same friends. A breakup with your mate does not mean you should have to breakup with your friends also. Maintaining certain friendships may be difficult after you break up.

As difficult as it may seem, when you choose to separate and end a relationship, you may make things easier to end some of your mutual friendships as well. Dealing with a break up is easier if you and your ex are open with mutual friends.

Just keep your closest friendships, and let your ex do the same. While this may be painful at first, it will be better for everyone, since they won't have to take sides and choose who to hang out with. And that's important when dealing with a break up.
